The Young Dublin Symphonia Orchestra , Vestfold Ungdomsstrykeorkester (Norway) and Midtjyllands Unge Strygere (Denmark) are very grateful to Belgrove Boys’ Schools for facilitating their rehearsal programme prior to their appearance at The Festival of Youth Orchestras which took place in the National Concert Hall.
This international orchestral collaboration was listed as part of the official cultural programme of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Mr O’ Sullivan and Mr Byrne extended a warm welcome to the Scandanavian and Irish musicians (among them past and present “Belgrove boys”).
The Minister for Children Frances Fitzgerald TD commended the spirit of co-operation that enabled this meeting of youth and culture. It would not have been possible without the support of Belgrove Boys’ Schools and Clontarf GAA club.
