Welcome back to all our boys and Parents and a very warm welcome to our new boys both in junior infants and in other classes. My laptop has been out of action since we returned and so there has been some incapacity. Some news items:
- There was a very big turnout to our meeting for Parents wishing their sons & daughters to receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion. Could I remind anyone who was not at the meeting that they should make contact with their parish in order that their child’s name in put forward. We also had parents from Green lanes and the Howth Road School and again it was great to see you there.
- NEWB requirements: Please note that if a pupil misses over 20 days of school, we are obliged to report this to the National Educational Welfare Board. AS a courtesy, we will let Parents know as soon as their son passes the threshold
- A big thank you to our Parent Volunteers who have made themselves available for help in the yard this year. the roster goes out today.
- Note for your diary: There is a very important meeting on next Thursday evening at 8 o’ clock in the girls’ School Hall to discuss the possibility of an increase in class size in our schools. A Parent of a boy in second class will speak at this meeting as well as a representative from the INTO. It is important to note that were class size to be increased, it would impact very considerably on the pupils in our school- moreover those boys who need that precious extra help from their teacher.
