We celebrated Active Week during the last full week of school this year. There were various activities organised throughout the week which all the students loved.
We held a Boot Camp out in the yard every morning for the first 10 minutes of the school day. Staff members volunteered to guide the rest of the school through different dances and exercises, even the parents joined in!
On Monday, each class walked down to Clontarf Rugby club where they participated in a rugby training session.
On Tuesday, second class went to St. Anne’s Park for a soccer tournament.
Wednesday was one of the most exciting days during the week as this was our ‘Sport’s Day’, plus it was Crazy Hair Day! Each class spent time on the Astro going around with a teacher to different stations. Some of the stations included novelty races (egg and spoon race, sack race, bean bag race, etc.), penalty shoot out, soccer match, frisbee, javelin throwing, parachute and an obstacle course. Another reason why the boys REALLY enjoyed this day was because an ice-cream truck came to the school and handed out ice-cream to everyone!!
On Thursday, Junior Infants had a big day out as they went to St. Anne’s Park for their first every Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
On Friday, Senior Infants had their turn to go to St. Anne’s Park with their teddies for a Teddy Bear Picnic. They did loads of fun activities during their time at the park.
