According to the seanfhocal, ‘Is olc an ghaoth nách séideann do dhuine éigin’- it is an ill-wind that does not blow for someone. Today, we held a fire-drill to test our evacuation procedures and due to a communication hitch, Dublin’s finest arrived in not one but two appliances (what used to be called fire-engines!). Having come so far, the lads- for lads they all were- pulled into the yard and we had our best show and tell for a long time!
This morning first thing, the boys met Killian Kirwan, past-pupil of Belgrove and current pupil in St. Fintan’s in Sutton. He arrived to tell us all about his replica olympic torch and how he was selected to do a leg of the torch-bearing in Howth lasty week. THanks to Frankie Byrne for ‘sharing ‘ Killian with us.
Lending books is a hazardous activity and someone lent me a book entitled ‘Happy to be me: A kid’s book about self-esteem’. There is a dedication inside the front cover ‘Ross & Zoe- February 2009. Please claim the book from my office if you own it.
