Now that the dust has settled after the First Holy Communion ceremony, it is right that I thank several groups of people who helped make the day meaningful and enjoyable
- to the Parents who helped put up the art in St. Gabriel’s on the day before the ceremony
- to the Parents of the boys in 1st class who decorated the hall so beautifully
- to parents who brought….made….baked the confections and sandwiches which we all so enjoyed on the day itself
- to the parents who served the tea and treats on the day. It was a very early start for everyone…. especially those at either end of the age spectrum! Sometimes, only a cup of tea will do!
- To the staff in St. Gabriel’s parish church who were so welcoming of us at practices and facilitated our needs
- To Conor Ryan, Principal of the Senior Boys’ School and his staff for making some 50 of his boys available so we could assemble a choir.
- To Sorcha O’ Grady and Anna Doody for conducting and accompanying the choir
- To Fr. Pat who as always conducted a beautiful ceremony.
- Finally, to the teachers who prepared the boys so well for the Sacrament
Go raibh mile maith agaibh as ucht gach a rinne sibh!
